Mittager

Mittager shelter

This panoramic tour starts from the mountain station of the Merano 2000 cable car, then you board the Mittager chairlift which takes you effortlessly to 2,300 m altitude. From here, you walk up to the Windspitz (2,390m) and Mittager (2,422m) peaks. The 360° view that sweeps up to Lake Caldaro repays your efforts. Next, head down to the Mittager shelter where you will be greeted by a large flock of sheep.

Slingia hut

The start of this easy hike is right on the border with Switzerland, precisely at the end of the village of Slingia, at 1,726 m. As you walk along the panoramic path that leads directly to the Malga di Slingia, you can admire the imposing three-thousanders of the Sesvenna Group. A tip: taste the excellent homemade cheeses while sitting comfortably on the outdoor terrace!

Tour of the Sesto mountain huts

Already at the start, at an altitude of 2,072, you can appreciate an incredible view of the majestic Dolomites. This easy hike starts from the top station of the Orto del Toro cable car and, on an easy path, passes by the Klammbach hut, then leads to the Alpe Nemes hut and back. Walking among blooming mountain pastures, you can breathe pure mountain air and observe friendly wild animals.

Alpine hut Oberholz

A few minutes from Bolzano, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Obereggen. The tour starts from the Oberholz mountain station: from here, head towards Passo Feudo, then, passing through the Pampeago Pass and Mayrl hut, return to the Oberholz Refuge. Both huts deserve a stop to savour their culinary specialties. Your constant companion: the wild Latemar Group.

Tour of the Alpe di Siusi huts

This itinerary, divided into three stages, leads to the discovery of awesome views of the Alpe di Siusi. The first day, you leave from Compaccio and reach the Bolzano Refuge (2,457 m). A must: admire the sunset from Mount Pez. The next stage passes through the Alpe di Tires hut and ends at the Sasso Piatto hut. From here, you return to the starting point. As a backdrop, the fabulous Dolomites.

To the Fanes and Lavarella huts

This splendid panoramic hike in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park starts in Pederü and leads to the top of the Passo di Limo. Along the way, you pass the Fanes and Lavarella huts, the latter particularly popular with beer lovers. Why? It houses the highest mini brewery in Europe! Additional features of this tour are the three crystal-clear bodies of water: Lake Piciodel, Lake Verde and Lake Limo.

Tour of the huts

Starting from Funes, this circular tour leads through the Puez-Odle Nature Park, passing right in front of the famous rugged peaks. Along the path, there are six mountain huts: the Kaserill hut, the CAI Genova hut, the Gampen, Glatsch and Casnago huts and the Odle hut. To be able to savour the typical dishes of each hut, we recommend taking the itinerary in two stages. Authentic flavours and inspiring views are guaranteed!
