Diversity in style: Fashion trends Autumn/Winter 2017

It’s official: red is the color of the season. Like pink for spring 2017, head- to-toe red was the go to monochromatic look for fall. There were sleek coats at Givenchy, monochromatic looks at Max Mara, and a statement boot by Fendi soon to be seen all over the street style circuit. Riccardo Tisci’s final Givenchy collection was made entirely in the col- our, proving that red is on fire for autumn/winter 2017.

Designers are inarguably mad about plaid – utilizing the chequered twilled cloth made of wool on everything from coats to suits. Checked great coats at Prada, Chloé and Bottega Veneta were favorites, but it was especially refreshing to see plaids turn up in other pieces aside from outerwear. Plaid has a versatility that makes it a welcome addition to any wardrobe.

If you haven’t invested in a suit yet, then It’s about time. The look has seen a comeback recently, was modernised with white trainers and is set to stay for autumn/winter 2017. Pronounced shoulders, double breasted cuts and elegantly pressed slacks mark out the new, everyday uniform (in, and out of the office). A deft mix of feminine and masculine, offering options that will give any wearer a sense of power. Get ready to suit up.
